The first sketch for RIVR's patent Loer was made nearly four years ago; it took another two years to ensure proper fit and a further two years to make it the most comfortable shoe on the market. Without understanding the technical challenges, I registered for the design #patent right away because I knew I had something special.
I wouldn't have applied for a patent if I had known that it was nearly impossible to make sure it fit the first time, but looking back, I'm glad I did because Loer wouldn't exist as it does today if I hadn't applied and #invested in a patent.
I'm reminded of the times when I would approach random factories and ask people if they could. While most declined, some people who were just as crazy as us would try it. And to get this one just right, we've worked closely with those people to get the best version of this stunning piece.
Loers has been the greatest lesson and test of patience. After looking into almost 105 samples over four years and having so many people try and love it, it is definitely my personal and RIVR ‘s first success story.
We started with basic colours to test the market after a overwhelming response we decided to experiment with fabrics, embellishments, colour ways etc. We have added a cushion at the back for more comfort to avoid shoe bites.
